Celebrating the Success of the 2nd ABOTA Women’s Leadership Summit in Savannah

The 2nd Women’s Leadership Summit, held at the stunning JW Marriott in Savannah, Georgia, April 9-12, 2026, was nothing short of a success. Bringing together professionals from across the region, the summit created a powerful space for connection, learning, and shared commitment to advancing women within the profession.

From the moment attendees arrived, the energy in the room was unmistakable. This year’s summit reinforced an important truth: events like this matter. They offer intentional opportunities to build relationships, exchange ideas, and elevate voices—while reminding us why investing in women’s leadership is essential not only for individuals, but for the strength and future of the entire profession.

One of the defining strengths of this year’s summit was its momentum. Over the past several years, women’s participation, engagement, and leadership within the organization have continued to grow, and the 2nd Women’s Leadership Summit served as both a reflection of that progress and a catalyst for what’s next. Sessions focused on professional development, mentorship, and leadership were met with thoughtful discussion and meaningful engagement, underscoring the real demand for spaces like this.

The summit was proudly co-chaired by Stacy Garcia, whose leadership, vision, and commitment were instrumental in the event’s success. As co-chair, Stacy played a key role in shaping a program that was both impactful and inclusive—one that celebrated how far women have come while challenging attendees to think intentionally about building future pipelines of talent. Her dedication helped ensure the summit was not just an event, but an experience that left attendees feeling empowered and inspired.

Equally important was the spirit of collaboration that defined the summit. Progress does not happen in isolation, and the strong support of male colleagues, allies, mentors, and leaders was both visible and meaningful. Their partnership and advocacy continue to be critical in fostering an environment where women can grow, lead, and thrive. The summit highlighted that when women are strengthened, the entire profession benefits.

As the event concluded, the focus shifted toward the future: recommitting to mentorship, advocacy, leadership development, and excellence wherever it is found. The conversations sparked in Savannah will continue well beyond the walls of the JW Marriott, informing actions, strengthening networks, and shaping the profession in tangible ways.

The success of the 2nd Women’s Leadership Summit is a testament to what’s possible when leaders like Stacy Garcia and dedicated volunteers come together with a shared purpose. It wasn’t just a celebration of progress—it was a clear statement of commitment to continued growth, inclusion, and leadership for years to come.
