Lawsuit Against Galveston County Dentist Dismissed

We’re pleased to share that firm partner Stacy Garcia recently secured the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against a Galveston County dentist, successfully defending the provider against allegations of negligent dental care.

The plaintiff, a former patient, claimed that treatment provided by the dentist caused the need for future dental procedures that would not have been necessary had the original care met the standard of care. The lawsuit also alleged that the dentist’s treatment of a specific tooth was substandard and led to avoidable complications.

Ms. Garcia worked closely with the dentist to understand the treatment at issue, the nature of the alleged future care, and the standard of care applicable to the procedure. Her approach included a detailed review of the dental records and a strategic explanation of the clinical decisions made during treatment.

In addition to the substantive defense, Ms. Garcia navigated multiple courts and addressed the procedural requirements under Chapter 74 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code (CPRC 74)—a complex area of law governing health care liability claims. Her ability to clearly articulate the legal and procedural framework ultimately led to the dismissal of the case.

The dentist expressed deep appreciation for Ms. Garcia’s diligence, expertise, and unwavering support throughout the process.

This outcome highlights Ms. Garcia’s deep understanding of healthcare litigation and her commitment to defending medical professionals with precision and care.
