Attorney Stacy Garcia Co-Chairs Inaugural ABOTA Women’s Leadership Conference in Bachelor Gulch

Garcia Law is thrilled to announce that Attorney Stacy T. Garcia co-chaired and attended the inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference for the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), held at the stunning Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado. The event, which took place in June 2024, brought together some of the most accomplished women in the legal profession for a weekend of education, empowerment, and connection.

As co-chair of the national event, Stacy played a pivotal role in raising over $100,000 to fund the conference—an extraordinary achievement that helped make this first-of-its-kind gathering a resounding success.

“This weekend exceeded every expectation,” said Garcia. “It was an honor to help create a space where women trial lawyers could come together to learn, lead, and lift each other up. We’re already looking forward to making this an annual tradition.”

A Weekend of Inspiration and Insight

The conference featured a dynamic CLE schedule focused on leadership, advocacy, wellness, and storytelling—all through the lens of women’s experiences in the legal profession. Highlights included:

  • “This Girl is on Fire” Trial Strategy Panel featuring powerhouse litigators from across the country.

  • “Women Leading the Bar” with past and present leaders of major bar associations.

  • Keynote sessions from inspiring figures like:

    • Eliza Reid, former First Lady of Iceland, on the power of storytelling,

    • Angel Myers McIlrath, Mississippi District Attorney, on resilience through grief,

    • Camille Vasquez, high-profile litigator, on building a personal brand (interviewed by Stacy Garcia),

    • Hon. Carrin Patman, former U.S. Ambassador to Iceland, on advocacy and diplomacy.

The weekend also included panels with federal judgescorporate counsel, and ABOTA leaders, all sharing practical insights and personal stories that resonated deeply with attendees.

A Milestone for ABOTA

This inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference marks a significant milestone for ABOTA, an organization long committed to civility, professionalism, and the right to trial by jury.

As a National Board Representative for the Houston Chapter, Stacy Garcia continues to lead by example—bringing vision, energy, and heart to every role she takes on.
