Summer CLE: Stacy Garcia Attends 2024 TEX-ABOTA CLE Roundup in Santa Fe

Garcia Law is proud to share that Attorney Stacy T. Garcia recently attended the 2024 TEX-ABOTA CLE Roundup, held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, from March 14–15, 2025. This prestigious event, hosted by the Texas Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates (TEX-ABOTA), is only open to members and invited guests and brought together some of the most respected trial lawyers and judges in the country for two days of high-level continuing legal education.

What is ABOTA?

The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial—a cornerstone of the American justice system. ABOTA’s mission includes:

  • Elevating the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession,

  • Promoting the efficient administration of justice, and

  • Educating the public about the importance of the right to trial by jury.

Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only and is extended to trial lawyers who have demonstrated excellence and professionalism in the courtroom.

A Premier Legal Education Event

The 2024 CLE Roundup, themed “Lawyers Answering the Call,” showcased a lineup of nationally recognized speakers. Highlights included:

  • Rusty Hardin, Dick DeGuerin, and Dan Cogdell discussing the Impeachment Trial of Dan Paxton,

  • Steve Vladeck on What’s Really Wrong with the Supreme Court—and How to Fix It,

  • Camille Vasquez on The Importance of a Personal Brand in the Courtroom and Public Opinion,

  • Stephen Jones reflecting on Defending the Most Hated Man in America: United States v. Tim McVeigh,

  • And many more thought-provoking sessions on ethics, mental health, legislative updates, and judicial independence.
